Notice: The Gibson City Homeowner’s Stormwater Mitigation Program
The City of Gibson is starting this program to provide direct assistance to homeowners to help mitigate stormwater in their basements and crawl spaces through monetary support, as well as provide additional cost-effective ideas and potential solutions that will help to lessen the impact on older homes that do not have overhead plumbing and that do not presently have sump pumps or check valves from stormwater events and when Drummer Creek and tributaries back up.
The program will begin SEPTEMBER 21, 2026.
Applications/approval forms will be available at Gibson City Hall located at 101 E. 8th St. in Gibson City during normal business hours. Please read the attached details here, or call 217-784-5872 for additional details.
After throroughly reading the qualifying details, applicants will complete the applicant portion of the Applicant/Approval form and submit complete application to City Hall located at 101 E. 8th St. in Gibson City during normal business hours (8-4, M-F). Approval and the next steps will be determined by the Superintendent of Wastewater/Stormwater John Bobera.
