NOTICE: Leaf Pick-up is underway! To those interested please place your bagged leaves by the curb, and the City will make sure to stop by and pick them up as soon as they can. The City will do their best to accommodate to all residents in a timely manner, so please be patient while they continue to make their rounds until the majority of leaves have dropped.
We appreciate your cooperation! Find more information below regarding this year’s Leaf Pick-up:
There will be a change to leaf pickup this year.
The City will no longer vacuum loose leaves from the curb. Residents will need to place their leaves in paper yard-waste bags and set the bags along the edge of the road for City crews to pick up and dispose of.
Please remember:
Leaves must be bagged by the resident.
Paper yard-waste bags only – no plastic bags.
Place filled bags at the edge of the road for pickup.
Paper yard-waste bags are available locally: Ace Hardware – $3.99 for 5 bags; Runnings – $2.99 for 5 bags.
The approximate start date for City pickup of bagged leaves will be mid-October.
One benefit of this new bagged-leaf collection process is that it will allow the City to extend the leaf pickup season. In previous years, vacuum collection was limited to only a couple of weeks. With bagged leaves, the City will be able to provide pickup over approximately a one-month window, giving residents more time to clean up leaves as they continue to fall throughout the season.
Please do not rake loose leaves into the street or along the curb, as the City no longer has the equipment to vacuum them up.
Thank you for your cooperation as we make this change to our leaf collection program!
