ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS: PLEASE READ.
The large city-wide ‘Chip-and-Seal’ Roadway Project is about to begin in Gibson! We would like to inform the public about this vast project to prepare and plan ahead to help with the successful nature of this project. We will need cooperation from residents with the guidelines listed below:
The ‘Chip-and Seal’ process is a large project that has the purpose of repairing and prolonging the longevity of City Roads. This will take place in two phases, with each phase tentatively taking around a week to complete.
1. Sweeping of the streets – TENATIVELY BEGINS ON SEPT. 6, 2022 (BEFORE the seal coating)
2. Seal Coating the streets – TENATIVELY BEGINS ON SEPT. 12, 2022
Please view attached map to see which marked streets will be included in the project and subject to protocols listed:
During these processes, ALL VEHICLES WILL NEED TO BE REMOVED FROM DESIGNATED STREETS OR WILL BE TOWED. We recommend that residents park vehicles as far off the street as possible.
We HIGHLY recommend all residents close their windows during the project to avoid dust entering their homes.
During the period of time when the work is being performed on each street, that street will be completely closed to traffic.
Please keep in mind that plans may be subject to change, but the City of Gibson will do our best to keep all residents informed. We will provide an update at a later date regarding a general order that the streets will be cleaned and sealed to keep all residents aware of movement patterns.
