Sponsored by The Poured Out Church Committee:
August 25 & 26 , 2018
To show support for our incredible community in Gibson City, the following churches and organizations are coming together to “Pour Out” into the community.
“We want to give back and pay it forward for all we have recieved and are grateful for. Joining us this year will be: The Gibson City Area High School Interact, Gideons, Knights of Columbus, The Gibson City Police Department, Gibson Area Fire Department, Gibson Area EMTs, The American Legion, The Gibson City FFA, Gibson City Rotary, Gibson City Boy Scouts, The Lions Club, American Lutheran Church , First Christian Church, First Presbyterian Church, Gibson City United Methodist Church, Gibson City Bible Church, New Beginnings Church, and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
As you make your way through town on those days, you may see us washing windshields at Casey’s and FS: bagging groceries at County Market; conducting a paper and household products drive to benefit The Emergency Food Pantry at the Sheperd’s Closet and the Gibson Area Food Pantry; collecting items for care packages being sent to members of our active military duty; helping with home repairs, yard work, and painting projects; cleaning at Sheperd’s Closet; helping at Moyer Library; making cards for various churches to send through out the year; passing out cookies to everyone we meet, tying quilts that will be sent to refugees and the homeless; Singing at Heritage, Villas of Hollybrook and The Annex; and offering prayers for our schools, City Officals, Police, Fire, and Ambulance Services and anyone who would like to come to the park for comfort. We also plan on making a “Heritage Video” of memories share from so many of our residents here in Gibson City.
On Sunday, everyone is invited to join the fellowship at the North Park Pavilion for a pork loin-sandwich luncheon starting at noon. After lunch, everyone is welcome to join us, and we conitnue to ‘pour out’ into the community to finish our work!”
We want to invite anyone who is interested in participating to contact Cythia Davis (217-784-5444), or any of the pastors in the churches listed above. Our Individual hands are small, but when we come together, we can do so many things that mean so much to so many people!
