Information to Participating Businesses:
Thank you for taking part in this event to promote our downtown businesses and raise funds for Gibson City’s Sesquicentennial in 2021. There is no fee for your business to participate.
The committee will be selling the tickets. Each “Wine Walker” must check in with the committee at a tent set up outside of Insurance Providers Service office, 126 N. Sangamon Avenue.
ID’s and proof of being 21 will be checked. Anyone under the age of 21 will not be allowed to participate. Wine Walkers will be given a wristband, custom event glass, map of participating businesses, and shop guide card. To be served a beverage and snack, they must have the wristband, glass and shop guide card.
Wine Walkers will visit the participating businesses. The business representative will initial or stamped the shop guide card prior to being served. The glass distributed by the committee is to be the only one used for the event. Please serve only one ounce of beverage, no refills.
Participants who visit and get their card stamped by all businesses will qualify for the drawing of the Grand Prize Basket. This will be awarded at the end of the event by the committee. We are gladly accepting items for this basket if you care to donate let Sharon know.
County Market is offering businesses a 10% discount on 6 or more bottles of wine bottles purchased for the event. Ask for Sarah.

- On the day of the event, be open during the tour hours, 11 – 2. Your business will be provided a “balloon bouquet w/ event sign” so the Wine Walkers will recognize you as a participating business.
- Plan enough beverage and snack samples – we have a limited amount of 200 tickets for this event.
- Wine Walkers must have the special event glass, wristband, and shopping guide card. You don’t need to worry about checking ID’s, the committee will do that when issuing the wristband.
- Have a representative initial or stamp the shop guide card and serve the beverage and snack. Keep tastings to one ounce, no refills and no second servings of snack.
- Make accommodations so your employees and Wine Walkers are following Covid-19 guidelines. Please provide reminders about social distancing, and use gloves for serving the Wine Walkers food and drinks. Have trash cans available for patrons to use. We will provide gloves for your use if you would like, just let us know.
- Take this opportunity to promote YOUR business: Offer special sales, host a raffle, provide giveaways, give a tour, and tell about the services and products you offer. Let us know your plans in advance and we will share them in our advertising.
- Remind Wine Walkers to keep their sales receipts. For each $10 of purchases made during our event, they will receive a ticket to enter in the drawing for prizes. Participants that get stamped by all businesses will qualify for the Grand Prize Drawing. Drawings for the prizes will be at the end of the event at 126 N. Sangamon Ave. Some prizes have been donated by non-downtown businesses.
Thank you for your cooperation, and enjoy the event!
