The City of Gibson (pop. 3407) is seeking an experienced Water and Wastewater Operator.
Water Plant operation and maintenance includes an aerator, gravity iron filters, fluoride addition, gas chlorination, lab work and record keeping. Distribution system maintenance includes water mains, 300K and 100K water towers, Julie locates; installation, maintenance and reading of water meters and required water samples. Water certification is a plus. Class B certification is required by IEPA to operate the facility.
Wastewater Operations requires a Class II Operator to operate an activated sludge plant with aerobic digestion; 4 small lift stations and biosolids disposal on City owned farm ground.
Must have or be able to attain CDL license with six months of employment and must be willing to relocate to within 20 miles of the City limits within one year of employment. City offers an excellent benefit package. Wages dependent upon qualifications; starting at $19.00/hr. up to mid $30.00/hr.
